Virtual Data Center: Is SRM Relevant?

Server and storage virtualization are mega trends for the data center.  Soon every shipped server will be virtualized.  Storage virtualization is also being rapidly deployed.  The drivers are to increase utilization of resources and create a business aligned dynamic IT environment.  What is the role of SRM solutions in these high density IT environments (if any)?  SRM solutions have offered data profiling and classification, capacity management, path management, availability and performance monitoring, change and compliance management and heterogeneous provisioning.  Is the value proposition of these solutions still relevant in the virtual data center?  This session will cover the impact of virtualization on SRM deployment strategies and value proposition as well as some best practices for storage management in virtual environments.
